About Us
Service & Culture for Nation Building
Bharat Vikas Parishad is a service and culture-oriented non-political, socio-cultural voluntary organization adopting the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. BVP Shivajinagar Charitable Trust is a registered Charitable Trust managed by the Shivajinagar, Pune branch.
We work for the all-round progress of India in culture, society, education, spirituality and patriotism — with special focus on rural education and tribal student welfare in the hilly regions around Pune.

What We Do
Our Key Initiatives
From remote tribal hostels to medical camps and disaster relief — every programme is rooted in Sahyog and Samarpan.
Rural Education
Supporting schools and hostels in remote hilly areas of Mulshi and Tamhini so every child can access quality education regardless of geography.
Student Hostels
Caring for 60 tribal students (Classes 5–10) and 55 more at Swami Vivekananda Vidyalaya — with 90 beds, daily meals, library and sports.
Medical & Blood Camps
Regular blood donation drives and medical camps in fringe villages around Pune, bringing healthcare to those who need it most.
Community Support
Integrated village development, artificial limbs for Divyang citizens, and rapid response during pandemics and national calamities.
Flagship Programme
Student Hostels in Remote Areas
To solve transportation challenges for students in remote hilly areas, BVP Shivajinagar Charitable Trust has adopted Sant Gadgebaba Children’s Hostel and Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hostel.
- 60 tribal students from Class 5 to 10 at Shri Vinzhai Devi High School
- All expenses of 55 students at Swami Vivekananda Vidyalaya hostel
- 90 beds with daily meals — breakfast, lunch & dinner
- Library, playground and sports equipment maintained
- ₹35 lakhs invested in mess-cum-study facility, solar power & water heating
- Educational guidance with teachers from Gyan Prabodhini
Rs. Annual Running Cost
Approximately ₹25 lakhs per year to run both hostels. Daily food expenses alone are about ₹7,500 for ~325 days.
Sahyog-Patra Scheme
Donate ₹7,500 (or multiples) to sponsor one full day of meals for all hostel students. Every contribution directly fuels young dreams.

Bhau Margale
- Vegre — Dhangar Community
From a remote mountain plateau without electricity, Bhau studied till graduation and completed his MSW. At 28 he became the youngest Sarpanch of his taluka and was named “Ideal Sarpanch”.
Azam Sheikh
- Bhare Village
Completed school and college through our hostel, earned a gold medal from Pune University in Chemistry, did his MSc and PhD abroad, worked as a scientist in Japan — then returned to serve India.
Kailas Kokare
- Wegre — Mountain Village
Disabled right hand from a childhood accident. Through brilliant intellect and hostel support, he received a scholarship to America, ranked among top 15 in a mini-marathon, and now works in Bangalore.
